Goa does not need any introduction; the attractions, hospitality and leisure it offers are enough to tell us the story why it has become the most sought after holiday destination in India. Ever since I read about the place in a famous travel magazine I was enthralled to venture out sometime and feel what they said about Goa. To no surprise the place took me mesmerized and spell bound that many a times after the visit I thought to lookout for options to settle down in Goa forever. To begin with I planned my trip with my roommates in Mumbai. Since mode of travel was no constraint for us we started looking out for Resorts in Goa. Thanks to Cleartrip.com who made it easy for us to choose a good resort at a reasonable price.
Being on a weekend visit, we had to choose the attractions with best possible combinations of fun and leisure. We reached Goa in the morning and after a brief stay at the ‘The Golden Suites & Spa’ beach resort located near to Calangute beach, we planned to cover north Goa. Soon after having a sumptuous breakfast we decided to do the first thing first and that was; hire a bike. Goa has lots of options for hiring a bike, all you need is a valid driver’s license.
With the favourable weather we soon hit the Baga beach to indulge in some water sports activities. It is one of the most happening place in India for the adventure lovers with lots of water sports options available. Ranging from a normal boat ride to Jet skiing to wind surfing, name it and you get it.
After spending the entire afternoon, we grabbed quick lunch at a nearby restaurant and went for shopping. I do not have any particular interest in shopping but the shops and the products on display lured me in shelling out some bucks. With the enduring activities all afternoon we were low on energy but high on spirits so we went to a nearby pub. Alcohol was available at reasonable rates so we had no option to leave, our bulk orders were like a test of limits. Later in the night we roamed around in the empty roads on our bikes and finally calling it a day at 2am in the morning.
The next day with a hangover at 11 am, we decided to spend the day at leisure and we shot off to nearby beaches spending sometime at the Calangute, Anjuna and Vagator beach. Being a weekend the beaches were a bit crowded but it was still fun for us as we managed to arrange a vacant spot to play some beach ball. Later in the day we left for the Chapora fort, inspired by the famous Bollywood movie Dil Chahta Hai, the scenic beauty around the fort was exciting. Our next stop was the Arpora food market, a night bazaar with lots of options and a heaven for shopaholics. We called the day a bit early as we had to checkout in the morning and bid good bye to Goa with a craving for more.
