THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR SMILE
The team ensures that a guest goes back with a smile on his face and memories for a lifetime. The repeat customer data shows that once a guest has experienced what SaffronStays has to offer, they come back for more. Word-of-mouth plays a great role in the hospitality industry; they are looking to create experiences that ensure each and every guest they host has a holiday he will never forget, and will visit these homes more and more often, and take his friends and family along too.
Even now, when guests love these homes, they feel a sense of pride. Each memory they helped to create is a one that serves as a compliment for them. People recognising a brand like SaffronStays is a compliment too. It means they are doing something right.

SAFFRONSTAYS FAMILY EXPLORED BHANGARH TOO
Bhangarh Fort is the only place in India which is ‘Legally Haunted’. The place is said to be haunted, filled with several spooky stories, and known for its greatest unsolved mystery.
We got a chance to explore this mysterious fort of Rajasthan, a wonderful experience. Nothing could be more fun than a visit to a spooky town and the itinerary has been designed by SaffronStays Jaipura Garh for its beloved guests to make their weekend memorable. A series of unattractive walls, a bunch of filthy trees, a row of ravaged gates at the entrance and a number of piles of stones may make you frighten.
According to Smashing Lists, Bhangarh Fort is featured in ‘Top Most Haunted Places in the World’ and moved to 4thplace on the list.
CHAND BAORI, A STEPWELL IN THE VILLAGE ABHANERI
Have you watched The Dark Knight Rises featuring Batman? Few scenes were filmed at Chand Baori, an amazingly structured stepwell located in the village Abhaneri and just 2.5 hours away from the elegant decor SaffronStays Jaipura Garh.
It’s easy to stick to the place when visiting Rajasthan due to many historical reasons. The caring team of Jaipura Garh will tell you the good stuff is right outside the home and explore the beauty around that truly fits your taste.
LOCAL FLAVOUR, YOU’RE WELCOME !
If you’re a foodie explorer and have set off to SaffronStays Jaipura Garh, believe me, you have made a great choice. This pleasant home surely leaves no stone un-turned to fill with deliciousness on the dishes to a greater extent.
There’s nothing better than Rajasthani foods where the varieties of top-notch grub are cooked with a serious emphasis on quality. Ranging from one of the most famous dishes ‘Dal Bati Churma’ to the pungent & spicy ‘Rajasthani Kadi’ – SaffronStays offers a magnificent range of unique dishes as if they are serving love on your table.
The caretakers and cooks supplied in various homes have the chance to earn over and above their salary – the guests pay them on site for food and ingredients, and neither the company or the homeowners get this money, except the cook.
What can I say further! The picture speaks for itself.
Each member of the team knows the challenges they are up against, and are not afraid to overcome obstacles. As a start-up, each member of the team has a role cut out for them, but is always willing to help out another if they can.
A well-known former editor of The Times of India Bachi Karkaria told, “While you go on vacation and take those couple of days off, you want the back-end to be working with all their might. And that is what SaffronStays does. The team makes sure that they are not resting so that you can rest and enjoy your holiday.”
SAFFRONSTAYS’S RAPID EXPANSION PLAN
SaffronStays: Where Families Bond is a micro-hospitality collective, started in October, 2015 with one home SaffronStays Parsi Manor, Matheran – and has grown exponentially ever since. In a short span of less than 19 months, SaffronStays has clocked over a million USD in revenues and hosted over 6000 families from Mumbai and Pune, who keep coming back to experience the delightful hand-crafted hospitality.
SaffronStays is currently largely operational around Mumbai, Pune, Goa and a few chosen locations in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Plans are afoot to rapidly expand to most parts of the country, without compromising on quality of experience offered. Currently, they have 28 homes and plan to onboard 40 exclusive homes (over 200 rooms) very soon. The goal is to have over 2000 homes managed and branded by SaffronStays in the next 5-7 years.
SaffronStays presently has properties in Bhugaon, Murud, Alibaug, Kihim, Dapoli, Mulshi, Matheran, Panchgani, Karjat, Khopoli, Gholvad, Kamshet, Lavasa, Panvel, Goa, Kodaikanal, Ooty, Gwaldham and Jaipur.
Every home goes through a rigorous 100-point checklist before even being considered to join the network, and a rigorous on-boarding process, that involves upgrades to every aspect from tasteful interiors to landscaping, from staffing and their training to technology deployment, to deployment of the processes and methods are undertaken.
Mr. Devendra Parulekar, Co-Founder of SaffronStays, stated “SaffronStays wishes to be the dominant managed vacation rentals company for the discerning Indian traveller. We will follow the Indian travellers across the world, by offering hand-crafted Indian hospitality in such gorgeous Homes. Now that we have cracked the product-market fit, achieved unit-level and even transaction-level profitability, and also understood all the operational problems associated with the model and figured out the ways to overcome these problems, we think it is time to raise some serious money to rapidly scale the business. We are looking to raise 20 million USD, to fund these expansion plans. A large part of the investment raised will be invested in our Technology backbone, expanding our network of exclusive Homes across the world and also establishing a world class brand.”
Ms. Tejas Parulekar, Founder says, “An aspirational, upwardly-mobile traveller today considers a Vacation Rental as a preferred option over traditional Hotels, considering the unique Staycation experience alongside the privacy and exclusivity offered by a heritage or a luxe bungalow, in a stunning countryside estate.”
WHO ARE THEY
Tejas Parulekar: A Chartered Accountant by training and a corporate banker by profession, Tejas made SaffronStays a reality in 2013. During a family trip to Europe, the joy, privacy, and freedom of a home stay gave birth to the idea of a platform that offered the comfort of a home on a holiday. Tejas decided to leave her corporate career and took a plunge into the rough world of start-ups. SaffronStays was then born with the motive of providing an indulging travel experience. The platform as it stands today is the result of her tireless endeavours to fulfill the dream of transforming the hospitality and travel industry in India. This mother of two unstoppable kids is a total foodie, loves swimming, playing basketball and trekking in the monsoons. All this combined with her energy and enthusiasm that she brings to SaffronStays makes her a true inspiration!
Devendra Parulekar: An avid traveler and photographer, Devendra is a management graduate with over 18 years’ experience in the Information Technology Industry. An Ex-Partner and Practice Leader-Cyber Security, India at Ernst & Young, Devendra left his cushioned corporate job in 2016 to pursue the vision of transforming the hospitality and real-estate market in India. His first rendezvous with SaffronStays was as the Chief Investor and Mentor. The initial phase of the firm also saw him code the website to save the start-up from a technology crunch! Although the foundation for their dream had been set by Tejas, Devendra brings his vast experience, leadership skills, and passion to their business to offer unique vacations!
